Publication Ethics

Frontiers in Literary Studies Journal strives to uphold the highest levels of research ethics, integrity, transparency, and ethical scholarly publishing. Ethical scholarly publishing can be seen as teamwork of authors, peer-reviewers, editors, and editorial board members.

The journal insists on authors ensuring that their articles satisfy all necessary criteria of originality, accuracy, authorship, and scholarly integrity.

Ethical Obligations of Authors

Authors are obliged to make sure that:

  • There are no plagiarized elements in the article.
  • This article has never been published previously.
  • This article has not been submitted to any other periodical simultaneously.
  • Data, arguments, interpretation, and evidence are given truly.
  • Sources, quotations, ideas, and other intellectual contributions are properly cited.

Moreover, authors are required to get permits for using copyrighted materials, illustrations, extensive quotations, and other third party materials used in the article.

If authors detect any significant error in a submitted/published article, they have to inform the editorial board about this fact right away.

AI-Assisted Tools

The journal acknowledges that artificial intelligence and AI-enabled technologies are now more and more often being utilized by academics in their research and analysis, language editing, and manuscript preparation processes.

The utilization of AI-enabled tools does not shift the responsibility for the submitted manuscript to the authors. The authors remain responsible for:

  • the originality of the manuscript
  • the accuracy of all data and claims
  • the correctness of citations and references
  • integrity of the research and scholarly argument
  • providing proper acknowledgements and attributions
  • conformity to the ethical standards and guidelines

In cases when disclosure is required according to relevant journal guidelines, the use of the AI-enabled tools must be appropriately disclosed.

Authors need to properly check the AI-enabled content since it may generate false data, citations, claims, etc. Authors are responsible for the review and correction of the content generated with the help of AI.
