Article Processing Charge
Frontiers in Literary Studies believes in being transparent and clear about any possible charges that may be made in relation to the editorial and publishing processes of the journal. The journal feels that it is the right of the author to be aware of these possibilities at the time of submission or publication.
Article processing charge (APC) is a possible fee that could be levied on an article that has been successfully through the editorial and review process and accepted for publication.
Potential publishing-related activities supported by an APC may include:
- Editorial and manuscript administration
- Peer-review coordination
- Copyediting and manuscript preparation
- Typesetting and production
- Online publication and hosting
- Digital preservation and archiving
- Metadata management and indexing support
- Maintenance of the journal's digital infrastructure
Current APC Policy
Option 1 — No APC Policy:
There are currently no Article Processing Charges for manuscript submission, editorial assessment, peer review, or publication of accepted manuscripts.
Option 2 — APC Policy:
An APC may apply to manuscripts that are accepted for publication. If an APC is applicable, the corresponding author will be informed of the relevant fee and payment requirements after the manuscript has received an acceptance decision and before publication.
It is important to note that an APC payment cannot ensure the article’s acceptance. All the editorial decisions regarding the publication of articles are independent from any financial aspect and are made solely based on the academic merit, novelty, relevance, research integrity, and scholarly contribution of the study.
This means that the editorial and peer review process will remain strictly separated from any financial aspects of the publication process. It is the author’s responsibility to familiarize themselves with the fee structure of the journal prior to the submission and to seek further clarifications on the applicable fees from the editorial office.
This journal’s APC policy is designed to foster transparency and clarity in the scholarly publication process
